APA Reflection Paper

When assessing and completing, “The Readiness for Physical Activity”, I found that for the PAR-Q questions I answered “No” to all seven questions. Similarly, when it came to the Physical Readiness for Sports or Vigorous Training, I once again answered “No” on all five of the questions. Therefore, based on these results there are a couple of conclusions and implications for me to acknowledge. For instance, since I answered “No” to all of the Par-Q questions, it’s safe to say that I can start becoming much more physically active without needing to talk to my doctor before doing so. In addition to that, I now understand that I should take part in a fitness appraisal so I can determine my basic fitness and thus plan out the best way to incorporate

When this class started at the beginning of this semester I was not sure I would learn a lot. The main objectives of this class were fairly simple. There were five main objectives to use and know. They are the following:

In Honors English III, Mrs. Bryce assigned the class a research project. Although we were allowed to work in groups, all of the writing portions were expected to be done individually. We were allowed do to research on any topic that we wanted. Unlike most papers we had written, this paper would be written in APA format. Some of the work would be done in class, such as the Introduction and Literature Review. However, most of it was expected to be done outside of school. Some additional requirements was that we had a minimum of three data collection sources and three findings from them.

This is a 1st grade class made up of 12 first grade students. There are 7 Girls and 5 Boys. There is 1 male student with general academic IEP that covers all subjects as well as 1 male and 1 female student that have speech IEPs. The classroom is arranged in table seating with a large carpeted area in the front of the classroom for group learning. This lesson will be taught in a group setting at the carpet.

After figuring out what the “issue” was and what it surrounded. It put me in a place where I had to really pause and think about where to go with this issue my young person was facing. Which I then told her I understood where she was coming and I will try my best to workout the situation. For instance, I reframed her with the question on how would she feel if being heterosexual quote and quote was the wrong way of living and knowing that persons don’t accept her for who she is. I then gave her a few second to marinate the question which she took a while before responding with I understand, but the bible said it is wrongful for a person to be dating the same sex and that the right way to live was to date the person of the opposite sex and that her parents let her know it's wrong.I took a step back and reflected on how I use to think when I was younger and how my surrounding use to portray the LGBTQ community as something that was not the right style of living.

I’m not going to lie to everyone, writing is not my favorite thing to do in life. In fact, I’m looking forward to my last class for my bachelor’s degree and my last essay or paper to complete said bachelor’s degree. I cannot pinpoint whether my discord with writing is attributed to a lack of ideas flowing in my head, or the inability to translate my ideas to paper. With that being said, I started this class with a basic knowledge of the APA writing style and I’d like to say I had an intermediate level of understanding of grammar. After these past eight weeks of Writing 101, I now can easily setup and build an efficient APA essay and I’ve learned how to conform to the APA writing style’s reference page.

I share the same concerns on my writing as you. The APA guidelines are a continuing source of learning of rime. It is a goal of mine to master the APA guidelines. Regarding the course writing assignments I appreciate the Rubics. It serves as a map for me when I am completing my writing assignments. The Rubic also helps with the flow of my papers. When I am writing my assignments I approach my paper as a puzzle and allow the Rubics to serve as my guide. It is easier and less complicated for me to research, write and compile my paper. It may sound a little off but the process works for me. The information in the APA writing guide is extremely helpful. I completed my directed reading-thinking activity with a five year old kindergartener named Austin, at Holly Academy. After having taught my first DRTA, I deliberated on it both individually and with my cooperating teacher. I have several things that I would like to reflect upon. Overall, I think that the outcome of my DRTA was effective. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement.

The AP English course is a difficult and time-consuming course that requires dedication and persistence. AP English has a large course load compared too high school and I feel with persistence and dedication the work will be challenging and rewording. Advice to help with the amount of reading material is to take your time when reading and don’t rush find key details in the text and underlining details.

Keep at AP; I do not feel I gave clear expectation to the students on how to complete the assessment. Although the assessment was aligned with the objective, I feel as though the expectations to the students could have been clearer. Before the students started to write, I told the class what they were supposed to do, however, when I was talking other students were talking. Also, the students did not understand what they were supposed to write. I could have given the students more directions or scaffold them on completing the writing prompt.

I intend to pursue a degree in the medical field. Upon undertaking a job in the medical field, numerous college professors will require you to grasp how to write APA style. APA stands for the American Physiological Association and is generally used in social sciences. All through during high school MLA has been stressed as the major style of writing, assuming APA will be difficult to write is outside of my jurisdiction. MLA and APA have several similarities. Both text styles are double spaced, must include either a “references” or “work cited” page, and anything that is not original must be cited. In contrast, papers written in APA and MLA will have an evident difference in appearance. APA always requires a title page

This week at Bridge House things are not running so smoothly. After returning from a long weekend I notice a change in the client ratio. Some clients was discharged over the weekend, resulting from unappropriated behaviors. I found the challenge to be the coed residential setting. This setting for some takes the recovery focus away. Individuals begin to form intimate relationships, and lose their focus. They become once again unable to make importance decisions for themselves. As seen with the two clients who decided to leave the program together, and the other two who got caught having imamate contact. I truly think that a rehab setting should not be coed.

Yes, I do know an APRN. Her function is to diagnose and treat patients in the cardiovascular wellness clinic. She is in the cardiovascular wellness specialty clinic. My exposure to APRNs are that they work mostly in the office setting, and some work in the hospital inpatient settings. APRNs practice in collaboration with an assigned physician with formal written documentations that describes the agreement between the APRN and the assigned physician. They collaborate in gathering information about a patient’s medical history, consult in regards to the treatment plans, and refer for additional evaluations and treatments as needed.

My family and I immigrated to the U.S. six years ago when I was fifteen. The differences in culture made it difficult for us to adapt to the new environment. During the first few weeks of high school, I felt frustrated as my inadequate English skills hindered communication with my teachers and peers. However, my parents were the ones who suffered the most. The language barrier made it difficult for them to find jobs and get through their daily tasks. Once, my dad and I went to a pharmacy to pick up his medications. He struggled to communicate with the pharmacist and received judgmental stares from other patients for his broken English. For the first time in my life, I saw the helplessness in my dad’s eyes. That was when I first became interested in becoming a pharmacist who could help patients like my dad, communicating in a language that they could understand. I set out to achieve my dream.

Assessments are integral parts of instruction, they determine whether classroom goals have been achieved, and help teachers know what areas they should focus on and maybe reteach. They are great tools for developing lesson plans and answer questions such as; “do my students possess full understanding of the material?” There are many ways of assessing students’ learning, one of which I have personal experience with are on-the-spot assessments.
