Fell From a Tree and Died
Pretty Pumpkins Today I went to the Lantern for the first time. When we arrived and signed in we were told to just go hang out in the living room area and talk to the residents that Cathy would be there around three. We got to talk with the residents and paint pumpkins. The residents are a true blessing. One thing I noticed today was that they really are stuck in times when they were younger. There was this on lady that kept telling us that everybody was sick and that she was going later. When she was talking she would talk as two different people. A few of the residents told me that they appreciate us visiting them that it makes there day especially the ones that don't have family that comes and sees them.
A long time ago in the 1900s there was a woman named Rosemary. She loved fall and wanted some pumpkin seeds. Rosemary decided to go to the farm with her husband Norman and her sister Carrie. Every year they would go to the farm to get pumpkins. This year they were really excited because the farm got better more orange pumpkins. Carrie was in her high 50s and so was Norman. Her sister Carrie was in her high 40s.
As the second cycle began, the children had completed their clean up routines and were now gathering in a group to participate in their morning circle activities. Mrs. Eady lead the children through the days of the week, the calendar, word wall, reviewing of the classroom rules, music and movement, and a reading of the book, “The Plumply Dumply Pumpkin.” While most of the activities were teacher chosen, the children had an active role in the lessons. Each child had the opportunity to lead part of the lesson, both in reviewing the word wall and the classroom rules. Throughout the activities, children could stand up and move and openly share their thoughts. When children did share their thoughts, the teacher encouraged them to express themselves

One day i was walking in the pumpkin patch. I Could smell the donut ready to be ate in the barn it smelled delicious. I had to go get the ranger to put the bright orange pumpkins in the back of the ranger so people don't have to walk to far. After that i have to walk in the barn to feed the cows there nasty food. They i have to go clean the fat pigs. Then then it will be ready to open. Right when it opened there was a ton of idiotic people. At first all the amazing donut were gone so i had to ride down the road and get more from the bakery. When i walked it smelled so good i had to buy like 500 donut when i got back the line was crazy.
If you're looking for a good pumpkin, then don't choose me. I mean, who wants a pumpkin with three flaws. I wouldn't want to get a pumpkin with these flaws. The flaws I have are bad. I have holes, i'm smelly, and I am square.
My ancestors, grandparents, were born in Haiti. My grandparents were the first to come to America. They left their country of birth because they were looking for a better life and a brighter future for their children and grandchildren. They were mistreated because of the color of their skin and they could not speak English. However, they did stop from reaching their goals of becoming nurses, doctors and engineers. Some even served in the US Army and others in the Air Force. At home, my parents teach us to speak Creole so we can be able to communicate with the rest of the family members who still leave back home in Haiti. It’s a tradition on New Year, we go to church and have midnight prayer for good luck. Interestingly, we had pumpkin
I am Brooklyn , Brooklyn Stone , and this is my story. Every year near Halloween me and my dad always went to get Pumpkins at the Windy Dindy Pumpkin Patch near the grocery store. At the time i was 7 years old , i was an only child with a mom and a dad. Me and my dad went to the pumpkin patch and my dad had a very bad heart attack , he landed on the pumpkins , broke his skull and died. I remember I was on the floor bawling. My dad had told me when i was about 5 or 6 that one year he was going to die in the pumpkin patch and i would have to pick the right pumpkin to save his life. I didn't believe it until that day. One pumpkin was rotten , another was little , and some others were huge.
Purple corn is a Peruvian superfood with more antioxidants than blueberries. This corn contains many phytonutrients including large amounts of polyphenols and anthocyanins, which protect the blood vessels. Studies show that plants with high anthocyanins and phenolic constituents have the highest antioxidant activity. Anthocyanins are a type of complex flavonoid that plants give a blue, purple or red. Anthocyanins are acting anti-inflammatory and stimulate the regeneration of connective tissue.

At The Cedars, my small group and I talked to a group of residents. We played pass with a beach ball filled with questions and then went around answering them. After, we went upstairs in the living quarters. We met a different group of people and talked to them about their lives and current
Both, the residents and students enjoyed the company. “It is a great way to give back, they all just look happier. Yeah, I would for sure consider volunteering here on my own time,” said Hoskins.
An outstanding experience this week comes from attending the Logan Square Neighborhood Association. I couldn’t believe how well everyone worked together even though they are from different agencies and have different responsibilities. There were people from different areas for example, social workers, teachers, volunteers, interns, people who work in the medical area etc. The main focus of the meeting was to talk about services provided in the community and why people don’t ask for them.
You do not have to spend all night waiting in the neighborhood pumpkin patch to enjoy the wonderful fragrance of the Great Pumpkin. Sure, you can spend the night going from house to house hoping that your unlucky streak of receiving a bag full of rocks will end but why wait.
I didn’t know what to expect my first night as a volunteer. I was a bit nervous, wondering if I would see anyone that I knew. As it turns out, I did know someone staying there, her name is Patty. Patty is a woman in her mid-sixties. She has a family that lives locally and the last time I saw her, she had a job. Patty openly
