Concerted syn-addition reaction is the reaction which takes place in a single step with complete retention of the configuration of the substrate. Concerted means that breakage of bond and formation of bond take place in one step only. Syn addition means that a cis substrate will form a cis product and a trans substrate will form a trans product.
