Chapter 7, Problem 55E
A new piece of equipment designed to make crystals from molten constituents is experiencing too many failures (cracked products). The production manager wants to monitor the cooling rate to see if this is related to the problem. The system has two output terminals available, where the voltage across them is linearly proportional to the crucible temperature such that 30 mV corresponds to 30°C and 1 V corresponds to 1000°C. Design a circuit whose voltage output represents the cooling rate, calibrated such that 1 V = 1°C/s.

Full-wave rectified sine wave circuit is used to measure the RMS value of a half square wave with the help of PMMC meter. The meter was actually calibrated for sine wave. The circuit uses a meter movement with a full scale deflection current of 200uA and internal meter resistance of 5kΩ. Assuming Non-ideal diodes having resistance 1kΩ, Analyze the circuit to determine the value of series multiplier resister and the corrected RMS voltage, if meter is to read 225V RMS full-scale.
2. Draw the graph of the voltage across the 10K resistor (calculate the values for the different voltages across the 10K resistor) of the circuit in the figure, knowing that the voltage source V is sinusoidal. And the diodes are silicon
