As the American dream is defined, a national ideal in which people have a lifelong goal that brings them prosperity, happiness, and or success, it starts with a plan of action that is most commonly taken after high school. For me, my American dream is to major in electrical engineering and to become an engineer at a big corporation so I can make a copious amount of money and be happy. In order for me to complete this mighty achievement, there are many actions I must take. To be an electrical engineer, one must obtain at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering. The most common education that these engineers have is bachelors, although some take 2 year master’s degree but usually do this to take on more management positions.

No matter what you choose I’ll be the one to tell these stories with a camera and a talented writer.

Everyone must make a choice, once they reach a certain age, that will determine everything in their life. My dream job is to become an electrical engineer one day because I find interest in circuits and building electronic devices. When I was a young boy my dream not to be an electric engineer but something more along the lines of being a cook; however, that dream was short lived because my interest of being able to cook changed over as I got older and became interested in electronics. The way electronics work is simply amusing to me because I could not understand how the devices were operating, and honestly I still may not understand how these devices actually work. My backup plan for my future career would have to be becoming a
First things first, I chose electrical engineering as my career, mostly because of my love of computers and physics. As an electrical engineer I’ll design, develop, test, and maintain electrical and electronic devices; use computers and engineering software to design devices; work in a team to build the items that we designed; and test and provide maintenance as needed for these items. I might design items like an electric motor, a radar system, a navigation system, a communications system, or power generation equipment. (idcis.org, “Electrical and Electronics Engineers”)
Working as an engineer is much different than training to be an engineer, unlike school, there is no typical day. Typically, engineers work in office buildings, laboratories, or industrial plants, but others work outdoors at construction sites, oil exploration and production sites. In outdoor sites, engineers usually monitor, direct operations, or solve on-site problems. Some engineers travel extensively to plants or work-sites in their area and abroad. Having investigated a career in electrical engineering, I have learned some information that I did not know before and made the decision of pursuing a career in electrical engineering based on research and interview answers.
